EDP's latest on the incident. Looks like the suicide theory is being given some serious consideration.

The breakdown services advise people to stay inside there vehicle in emergencies. now who would you listern too someone who you give £39 pound a month to, to look after the saftey and reliability of your only way to work or Network Rail.skipperdipper wrote:Well if the car broke down on the crossing, wouldn't you get out? I would. It was on the that crossing well before the train came I beleive?

I've always been told that in the case of motorways - regardless of weather, get out and stay on the other side of the barriers. I can see why, too, as many lorry drivers seem to use the hard shoulder border as a guide when driving, and I have seen a number drifiting quite far into the hard shoulder before suddenly 'jerking' back out - regardless, if a car was in the way of a truck at 56mph, I know what would come of worse! Hence I'd always get out even if it is raining.allypally wrote:I've heard many times advice saying to leave your vehicle ASAP, especially on fast roads and motorways.

You know you're a pilot when you drive off a cliff, and your last words are "Gear up!"
