Track Plans

Post by ilovequo »

Hi

Not sure if this should be on here but I'll give it a go.

Basically i need to find some track plans of Bradford Forster Square railway station (any era) as I want to do a model railway layout.

Any help appreciated please. ta

Dave,

Alan Godfrey Maps (http://www.alangodfreymaps.co.uk/ have a map in their Old Ordnance Survey Map range (Bradford (North) 1906) that shows the area between Forster Square and Manningham stations, and is of sufficient scale to give a good idea of the layout of the track.

I was there on the Friday to catch City of Truro and the Super D doubleheading, but unless I've got friends coming, I tend to stay away on Gala weekends - too many people about, especially in Haworth shop, though I understand a lot of money was spent, so the railway should benefit.

Anyway, Oakworth station's only five minutes' walk away, so I can get there most weekends. In fact I popped up to Haworth yesterday and picked up a couple of books, and then called in at the VCT and picked up a few more ...

Also thought about going up to Oxenhope for the Beer and Folk event, but I'm not a fan of Morris Dancing so decided to give that a miss ...

Thinking about the plans for Forster Square, if you've got time, it might be an idea to pop into the Central Library in Bradford and see if they've got any of the old OS sheets available for copying.

When I've got a bit more time myself, I'll have a look through my books, and see if there's anything in there that might be any help.

Regards,

Hi Dave

Went to Bradford Central Library and managed to get a photocopy of Forster Square station from 1932.

It also has Bradford Exchange station on it as well so if we dont end up doing forster square we can do exchange. lol

Will keep u updated
