Looks like a alright lineup, but the fact 55022's not appearing is a bit of a downfall.

Also, there's steam turns in the middle of a diesel gala, which is a bit daft considering it's a diesel gala.

no, they dont even display some of the ones not kept in kidderminster, and move them to the back of the carrage shed

Its mainly because the SVR pride themselves on being a Steam Railway and in all fairness only have diesels their because they come in handy if a steamer fails in service and they need another loco.

I should be down there working on the DMU on Saturday and Sunday, Im making the trip from my new digs especially to be there.

To be fare the question of steam during a diesel gala was to cater for the people who just turn up not expecting anything special to be happening, to which on a diesel gala families often ask if theirs any steamers about. its actually quite a good runner, rakes in the money for the SVR and provide a decent haulage leap between diesel hauled trains.

Diesel gala = 100% diesel traction.

Anything less than that and I don't go.

Make sure the old farts who run the railway know that.

I was going to go but I don't think the line up is anything spectacular there to warrant the journey. Sorry SVR your Steam Gala was great so get some good diesels in -a 37 or 2 and a 47.
