City of Truro

Post by ilovequo »

Hi

On Oct 14th - Oct 16th is the autumn gala weekend at Keighley and Worth Valley and the City of Truro is cnfirmed to be there.

It is due to arrive at Keighley on 28th Sept but does anyone know if it will arrive by rail or low loader.

Cheers

rail probably because the skipton and ilkley line connects to leeds, and leeds is connected to york.

it'll come by rail like all other main line locos look at 60009, that came to the lin many years ago, but never ran.

It came and went by road last time it was at the MHR (Spring sometime). I think it's 60mph limited on the main line, so finding a path that won't take 3 days to get from Alton to Keighley will probably be beyond the realms of possibility.

It'll go by road is my guess.

Yep Truro is NOT the main attraction for me there, the wonderful Super D will be the big draw for me!

I'm pretty sure the D will go by low loader.

I dont think the super D will be coming with City of Truro because CoT is scheduled to arrive on the 28th of september and the D is scheduled to arrive on the 11th of october.

Also if anybodys going can they get me a picture of CoT? I'm in Bristol so no chance of going to see it in person.
