I'll be there on all three days, as a humble ticket inspector on Friday and Saturday, then an 11 hour turn in Sheringham West 'box on Sunday. Anyone who will be visiting us...make sure to introduce yourself :) . I'll supply a list of trains I'll be working if anyone would find it useful.

Anyway, you're right, should be a great weekend, with five 'big' engines working (four diagrams each day plus one spare). The 16:30 Sheringham - Holt and 17:10 return should be the highlight, as that's the booked double-headed service :) .

Hi, the loco list for the gala is:

Battle of Britain 34081 ' 92 Squadron' (Fri, Sat Sun)
Wd 90775 (Fri/Sat)
City of Truro 3440 (Fri, Sat Sun)
B12 61572 (Fri)
N7 69621 (Sat, Sun)
J15 65462 (Sun)

Hope this helps:

Double headed combinations are:
Friday: 3440 + 34081
Saturday 34081 + 90775
Sunday 65462 + 3440

After a year we might finally get that saturday combination!

all the best, David

Some details...

Throughout the weekend, the five locos in operation will be: B12 61572 (spare loco on Saturday), 'WD' 90775 or whatever number it is (spare loco on Sunday), 'City of Truro', '92 Squadron', and our much-awaited N7 (spare loco on Friday). As always, remember that this is the plan. Just because it's planned (and, as far as I'm aware, not advertised to the general public) to happen, it doesn't mean it will happen.. The 16:30 Sheringham - Holt and 17:10 return are booked to be worked by (Friday) 'City of Truro' and '92 Squadron', (Saturday) '92 Squadron' and the 'WD', and (Sunday) the B12 and 'City of Truro'. Once again, please don't give me, or anyone else, loads of abuse if it doesn't happen :) .

As for my trains...I'll be working the following services, if anyone's interested in introducing themselves and having a bit of a chat about stuff :) . My name's Tom, believe it or not - I should be the one coming through the train to check tickets and things, as well as generally mooching about on the platform at either end, working as required

Friday 9th September
10:30 Sheringham - Holt (WD)
11:15 Holt - Sheringham (WD)
12:00 Sheringham - Holt (CoT)
12:45 Holt - Sheringham (CoT)
13:58 Sheringham - Weybourne (WD)
14:45 Weybourne - Sheringham (WD)
15:28 Sheringham - Weybourne (B12)
16:15 Weybourne - Sheringham (B12)
16:58 Sheringham - Weybourne (B12) and stable
'Pass' back on 17:20 Weybourne - Sheringham (17:10 ex-Holt)

Saturday 10th September
09:45 Sheringham - Holt (92Sq)
10:30 Holt - Sheringham (92Sq)
11:15 Sheringham - Holt (WD)
12:00 Holt - Sheringham (WD)
13:30 Sheringham - Holt (N7)
14:15 Holt - Sheringham (N7)
15:00 Sheringham - Holt (WD)
15:45 Holt - Sheringham (WD)
16:30 Sheringham - Holt (92Sq/WD)
17:10 Holt - Sheringham (92Sq/WD)

Sunday 11th September
No trains for me today, as I'll be up the box all day! Still, feel free to wave at me as you go past...right hand side as you leave Sheringham station :) .

News to me, but I've probably just got a load of out-of-date diagrams! Will definitely be a nice change anyway :) .

Tom, it was changed off the original diag, i don't no the precise reason why. I too have a copy with the b12 doing that diagram, but that has been superseeded. The original copy you have probably also has an incorrect time for the first surburban set movement of each day. for the latest stuff, http://www.nnr.co.uk/steam_Gala.htm should sort anybody out.

I might pop into the box at sheringham on sunday if thats ok always nice to finally meet people

Yep, no problem...I'll make sure the kettle's on for you! Thanks for the info re. the alterations to the diagrams - the original info still seems to be proudly displayed on the 'internal' site, unless i'm doing something wrong - though there don't seem to be any other major changes.

The gala ''page'' is still there (Accessible off my website or at http://www.nnr.co.uk/steam_gala.htm)

The weather forcast isn't so good but some spectacular photos can be got in the mist and rain up kelling bank. Click these links for a few examples

Ok hopefully it wont be that bad... but bad weather should never put off a rail fan!
