Green arrow could be gone forever
having a quick glance at the new SR mag in WH smith at crewe I read that green arrow's motion has just broke 1st it was the monobloc casting now its the ruddy motion. hope she will pull through!!
The monobloc casting that the engine uses at the moment will not be fit for use when the current 10 year boiler certificate expires. The only practical solution would be to make a new one and put the current one on display at the NRM or Shildon to show people how the locomotive was built.
But of course this costs £££ and the NRM cannot afford it on their own.

i heard that even if she hadnt of been damaged this would have been her last period of steam. Im not really a big fan of the locomotive myself but its still a shame that she might not steam again, what will the mid hants (watercress) line do as they were due to have green arrow for their gala in september or october?
