It was clearly not a power surge as a bus blew up in Tavistock Square.

Trolley buses haven't been seen in London for many years.

Speculate all you like, I reckon it's to do with G8.

Guys, watch the news. This is VERY disturbing.

It took me an hour to get through to my sister at Kings Cross.

I'm sat at euston, and using a mobile is pointless right now!

Landline is OK though - for anyone trying to reach someone.

Midland mainline have canceled services to and from London and as have other operators some buses in other parts of the UK are running empty now people are scared to go on a bus

Kings cross St pancrass and Euston and Marylebone all closed so no trains up north Victoria is closed but waterloo an paddington and charring cross still open and London Bridge

John, have a read of the BBC news website, nothing to do with power surges or derailments.

ive just got home from london as i was planing to go on the Steam hauled Downsman from London Victoria

I arrived in St Pancras late because of a problem with over head cables, so they put us on the slow line, my origonal plan was to go down to the St Pancras/Kings Cross tube station to catch the Victoria Line to London Victoria at around 10.00, lucky we didnt arrive in London untill 10.00 oclock when i arrived all you could hear was police, ambulance and fire brigaide rushing around London, and an anouncment over the Public Address system telling us to leave the station.

it suprised me how calm everything was around the St Pancras and Kings Cross Area, while i could i walked down to Kings Cross, even though a bomb had only recently gone off in the area is was so calm, it was so quiet

most of the people from St Pancras were hurded to a wild life centre in the camley area

eventuly sombody from wagn came to talk to us to tell us ways to get home, he also surgested that if you wished to hang on then they were going to try and get the main line stations back open

i eventuly got home via Kentish Town to catch a MML service to Loughborough.
