National Rail Journey Planner

Post by olympian »

Is anyone having problems with the Journey Planner on the National Rail Site, as it is refusing to load for me.

Last night it was refusing to let me on due to something to do with Cookies, and said its something to do with my browser, Ive checked it, and cannot see any problems with it. I'm also running Norton AV 2005 which I updated on Wednesday Morning and Im wondering if this is affecting it. Also Im using Zonealarm as a firewall.

Norton and Zonealarm usually get on well with each other.

Mainly this problem is driving me around the bend as I need to use the JP as soon as possible. Also its not only affecting the National Rail one, but the GNER one doesn't seem to want to work.

TIA

From the NationalRail website:

The Online Journey Planner is currently unavailable on the website
Time reported: 18:28
Description: Please note that due to technical problems, the Online Journey Planner, that is obtained by clicking on 'Planning Your Journey', is currently unavailable. Technicians are working to rectify the problem.
For an alternative information source please call TrainTracker on 0871 200 49 50 for updated information on train departures and arrivals. Calls cost 10p per minute, average call length 2 minutes

Sounds like they're having problems with the back end systems, as aparrently TheTrainLine and Qjump are down as well.

btw I still think something isnt quite right with these sites, I'm trying to get a ticket from BNS to Tiverton Parkway this Friday and being the cheapskate that I am, always try and go for the Virgin Value fares, but there's been none available for a couple of weeks now and usually even the 3-day advance fares are available on most services by now. Is there some sort of engineering work taking place between Birmingham and Tiverton this friday?

Also, for some random reason I searched for some trains from Paddington to Bristol TM, also on Friday, but there doesn't appear to be any trains running at all, the websites just keep coming up with errors!!
