Liverpool lime street

Post by johncas »

Anyone see sky news tonight there seemed to be about 50 Liverpool FC Fans on the roof of line street station and the reporter used the words how the hell did they get up there.

And there were fans jumping on the train shed roof hope it's tough glass

How do you get on the roof of lime street staiton train shed thought it was window cleaners \ maintinance staff only

I was up in liverpool only a couple of weeks ago and there's no easy way onto the roof, I can tell you, (not that I tried mind you).

Was just wondering how they got up there I have seen lime street and could not see a way up there was also fans on the ledge where the front windows are.

And as for the fan jumping on the roof If it was the old days the fan would of fallen through the glass on to the plaform. and if is quite high up and easy to slip.

There is no public access to the Trainshed roof. Even breaking and entering would not offer any easy access to the trainshed roof.

However the "balcony" (for want of a better word) abve the bookies at the front of Lime street is sometimes easily accessible via an open door near to platforms 7/8 IIRC. Myself and a friend watched the anti-war demo outside St George's with a few other passengers and rail staff last year. I've got a picture somewhere the I'll try and dig out.

Were these people definately on the actual trainshed glass roof, or just the balcony?

Cheers

In the Skelhorne Street car park there are stairs onto the roof to answer anybody's questions.

When I used to stand on the Kop 25 years ago there were always idiots who somehow managed to get onto the roof of the Kop, which is just as hazardous as what we saw last night - maybe they were the offspring of the Kop climbers. :D :D
