In any case - it wouldn't have been April fools day if a few people hadn't of made the effort! All the efforts were superb - but my prize goes to the Virgin Loco Haulage thread.

So I got back from a long day at work and saw this thread was up to three pages. I thought, "Hey, this should be entertaining!"

It included a number of experimental features including a marine type water-tube boiler working at 450psi. Although this original design is usually dismissed as a failure due to the revolutionary water-tube boiler, No. 10000 did successfully work a number of high profile trains. No. 10000 was completely rebuilt and re-entered service in 1937 with a conventional boiler and A4-style streamlining. Both before and after rebuilding, No. 10000 never carried a name, although it was often referred to as the "Hush-Hush" due to the initial secrecy of the project.

Typical French machinations! They may have set the day of the new year but they've never done anything worthwhile like we have! We invented time and gravity ...and sandwiches. What did they give the world? Hors D'oeuvre and Citroen 2CV's!

Time was discovered when someone realised they could use some form of measure to tell them when to do things. Like when youve nearly run out of meat its time to go hunting again.
