That wonderful machine that you have on loan from keighley 45212 the strongest of the Black 5s to work there. I think its over at Keighley at the moment though!

Ah but on the KWVR non stop 45212 made 45407's run look like a stroll on a branchline (what it should have been anyway!)

Both are excellent locos though, and the paintwork on 45407 does look far superior to any other 5 out there, but its hard to choose the best!

Oh well Davvydo, calm down, they are nice locos anyway. You could have typed what you wanted clearer.

Ok then permanently based at NYMR......well that leaves another black 5 George Stephenson........apparantly even though the valve gear looks like a box of spanners it was as good as a Jubilee!

Well, you didn't specify steam, and it is the nations premier Sulzer railway.

Yes the Class 17 is at Chinnor (my "local") and has been since 1992, when the son of my former school headmaster, a DTG member, and mojority owner of the 17, managed to get the locomotive moved here. Ironically, he has since moved to Devon!

Currently, its not in "A1" condition, with one engine out of action and in real need of a repaint. Still it is the only real thing of interest here, although if you like 31s, we received our second this summer!
