I don't like S15s particularly - they're not bad, but if I had to choose one I'd go for the Urie version (506) that's already on the MHR. Schools class are one of my favourite kettles, though.

Had a footplate ride on 92212 a few weeks back and it was very impressive. got over the top in the rain with a fair few on and the fireman didn't even need to break a sweat. Excellent locomotives, 9Fs. Shame they're not really Southern...

I would like to be there, but as its only December now and the gala isnt untill April/May I cannot say (lime a fair few others I'm sure who would like to go but cannot confirm yet) as that is quite a way off and it is around university hand in deadline time.

Looks like its only 1 weekend now, going off the distinct lack of LNER locos running (especially Gresley locos) its doubtful 3 different themes could be done (dont take this as a criticsm of the gala, its a great idea just a shame that some locos are not operational :()

Well, it's funny you should say that, but I seem to remember not so long ago you ran 6619 *WITH* the teak stock (dumbass).

In fact I think I was on that train because they had a buffet for shareholders etc.

A bit like the time Repton hauled a charter for the LNER coach group :)
