Does anyone know if there was actual locomotive built from a design like this. 4-4+4-4 all drivers?

That's either a Mallet-Garratt, or a Garratt-Mallet...

I think the drawing is actually 6-6+6-6.

All I could say to that is "Cor blimey!"

I remember seeing a page of a number of Garratt designs that were proposed at some point or another (http://www.beyergarrattlocos.co.uk/Proposals.html) - some very interesting might-have-beens in there, including some ideas for GWR derived engines.
