Hi all, dont know if anyones interested but the Crewe Heritage Centre are holding a charity day in aid of the local old folks home. Details are
EMMIE DIXON HOME CHARITY DAY
SUNDAY 2ND SEPTEMBER 08.30 – 17.30

Crewe Heritage Centre is pleased to announce its annual charity event to raise monies for Crewe’s Emmie Dixon home. This event is supported by local Freightliner staff and should see visiting locos on site and also includes the chance to visit Basford Hall marshalling yard on the special buses that will run from the Heritage Centre.
Buses will run on a half hourly timing and start at 08.30 and finish at 17.30. It should be noted that the tour of Basford Hall means a lot of walking on uneven ground and over footbridges and crossings and therefore it is not recommended for the for the very young. (NO PUSHCHAIRS, WHEELCHAIRS OR BUGGIES ALLOWED). Access to Basford Hall is by special bus only from the Heritage Centre and seats are strictly limited to each bus so it will operate on a first come, first serve basis. Prices for access to the Heritage Centre and Basford Hall trip is Adult £10.50 Child/Senior £8.50 Family £30.00 ( 2 adults 2 children). It is recommended that you pre book your ticket in advance using the email address below. ( tickets to be paid for and collected from the Heritage Centre on the day). There will be seats available on the day but these will be very limited and also operate on a first come first serve basis.
The Centre itself will be open as normal and will offer the usual attractions such as Main Exhibition hall which includes the Crewe 175 displays, 3 signal boxes, café, shop, APT, Class 47, 37, 03, 73, 87 and various steam locos under restoration also on site will be visiting Preservation groups and visiting locos from Freightliner(subject to availability). Admission to the Centre is Adult £5 Child £2 Senior £3, Concessions £2 Family £10. If decide to go on the tour when you are on the site you will be charged the difference for the tour. If you are turning up for the tour without a ticket please state this on arrival so you are charged the correct amount and also allotted a bus time.

T&C’s
1/ It is recommended that you have at least 3 options of what bus service you require. We are operating a bus every half hour from the Heritage Centre only.
2/ The email address to pre-book and any questions is bjporter_@msn.com putting Freightliner in the subject box. You will be emailed back confirming what bus you are booked on. Your name, address and if possible contact number is required. It is upto the person to collect and pay for the ticket on the day by CASH only, no card or cheque payments will be allowed.
3/ Under no circumstances are people to contact Freightliner in anyway querying about this event any questions should go through the email address above.
4/ Strictly no pushchairs, buggies, wheelchairs or scooters will be allowed around Basford Hall. They are however, allowed on the Heritage Centre.
5/ There is very limited parking available at the Centre so it is advised to check for other parking alternatives. There are some Car parks near to the Centre.
6/ Access to Basford Hall is by bus only from the Heritage Centre, YOU WILL BE TURNED AWAY BY STAFF IF YOU TURN UP BY CAR OR ON FOOT.
7/ Crewe Heritage Centre and Freightliner will not be held responsible for missed buses, damage or injury to a person/ article. Remember this is a working environment so due care and attention is needed and all people must follow the tour guide at all times.
8/ Tickets are first come, first serve basis.

Just an update on the charity event, it now reads " Crewe Heritage Centre charity day with Basford Hall tour for the Emmie Dixon home"

Bookings are still being taken till around 21.00 tonight using the eamil bjporter_@msn.com. All prebooked tickets will be allowed on the bus first, with "on the day tickets" let on aferwards. There are still seats available on all services upto 16.00. Thanks all
