Just found out that the WSR will be letting people drive one of there home fleet for a fiver at this years Spring Steam Gala. Looks to be a really good experiance

Also on the 24th March I will be one of the TTI's on the 10:00 BL-MD, 12:00 MD-BL - 14:00 BL-MD & 17:00 MD-BL, come and say Hi!

Steam 'Driver for a Fiver' will be available at Minehead Station using one of the West Somerset Railway's home fleet. It is expected to be Great Western Railway designed 'Mogul' 2-6-0 9351on 24th & 25th March, loco to be confirmed for 18th March.
Sun 18th March: 11.15 - 16.00
Sat 24th March: 11.15 - 15.00
Sun 25th March: 11.15 - 16.00

Excellent! It has just been confirmed on facebook that the loco for the Driver for a Fiver will be 9351

(Ill be able to get lots of cab shots for my RW model!)

Only on some of the gala days. On the other days, the loco will be S&D 7F No.88

I dont think that the info on wsr.org.uk is correct. The offical website says
