Class 104 formations in NSE livery

Further to my earlier query on the single engine Class 104 units, I now have a query on the Class 104 units painted in NSE livery and used on the Barking-Gospel Oak service.

A total of 10 units comprising 8 @ DMBS and 2 @ TCL/TSL were involved. The 8 @ DMBS were formed into 4 No. 2 car sets and numbered L701 to L704 between circa 1988 and circa 1990.

Can anyone please tell me whether the centre cars were used with these sets, or were they used in hybrid consists with other NSE classes?

In hope, Alec

Hi Alec
L701-704 were power twins, as far as I am aware the centre cars never arrived on the WR.

Thanks for the reply Phil.

My understanding is that the ten vehicles noted in the initial query were certainly painted in NSE livery circa 1988/1989, and that the power twins were formed using 2 No DMBS units - I have created these in the four numbered sets L701 to L704.

I have renumbered two NSE liveried centre cars (59163 and 59206), but not sure what to do with them now?

Perhaps some further digging might reveal how they were used?
