Crewe Heritage Centre /Freightliner 2 day event

Post by craigy »

Hi all ,
Just like to mention a great event we have coming up at the Crewe Heritage Centre on the 12th - 13th March. We will have on show a Class 70 and Class 66 and also doing tours around Freightliners Basford Hall depot. The tours will start at the centre, so you will have to come into the centre itself to go on the guided tour. Also on show at the Centre will be the APT-P, Class 87, Class 47, 2 X Class 37's Class 03 brake van rides, Miniature railway, 3 signal boxes, 92203 Black prince, 6100 Royal Scot, 61994 Great Marquess, 7000 Britannia, exhibition hall, refreshments in signal box and the APT, gift shop, vintage bus from the centre to Basford Hall and to and from the station. All this is in aid of The Emmie Dixon Home at Crewe, which is a nursing home . Prices are as follows Centre admission is £5 Adult, £10 Family, £3 OAP'S, Children £2 and for the tour is £5. This is the first for a long time that Freightliner have done this and maybe the last so heres your chance to see what Freightliner have to offer and all for a good cause. Any more info can be found on our website at http://www.creweheritagecentre.co.uk

Just a side note...if you need details please contact the Crewe Heritage Centre, not Freightliner directly as this is causing problems there, also dont turn up at Basford Hall waiting to go in as you wont be allowed unless you have bought your ticket from the Centre and arrived by bus. This is part of the deal that Freightliner have placed so they will not allow any outside partys or individuals into Basford Hall without coming from the Centre first. Thanks

A bit more info....the tours to Basford Hall start from the Heritage centre around 12.30 pm, this is due to Freightliner still working around Basford Hall at this time. Please remember you can only get into Basford Hall if you've got the bus from the Heritage Centre and also remember you have to pay to both places. More info should be on http://www.creweheritagecentre.co.uk. I hope to see some of you there ( i will be in the APT) lol, all this is in aid of a local hospice in Crewe. Brian
