That's not a http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Rail_Class_82. It's a DVT - unpowered - whose carriage number just happens to start with 82.

I don't much like the "fake bare aluminium" look either. I think real bare aluminium looks cheap and nasty on American and Australian trains, and shouldn't be emulated in the UK either.
The key to knowledge is not to rely on others to teach you it.
