It's the Saxons' secret plan to re-conquer the British Isles

Yeh DB is owned by the germen goverment so if you cant run your own railways let another goverment do it give them a few more franchises and they might be runing the lot.
Why don't they just buy eurostar build hs2 they we could see ICE trains in the UK
And they run our buses to thats great we now get bendy buses

Seriously doubt that as the ICE-3 can't handle the UK loading gauge, and isn't equipped for TVM 430

Provided they get fitted with TVM430 they should be able to run to St Pancras as I'm pretty sure HS1 was built to continental loading gauge for this sort of eventuality.

There is also the provision that SNCF is willing to gain DB the right to run between Paris and the Chunnel - which is far from certain, given how protective the French are when it comes to giving foreigners access to their network...

True. Although I would love to see a St Pancras Littered with Eurostars, ICE 3s and Thalyses

If it wasn't I would seriously doubt the sanity of the engineer, or whoever, that signed off the plans !

Yep, HS1 is indeed built to full continental loading gauge.
And to johncas: I've read that the ICE 3s are fitted with TVM430...might be wrong though but that has come from my German buddy who works for DB at Mannheim. Will double check though as I tend to drift in and out when he talks to me.
