A small question for Phil, knowing you as an OOC/Western Region-ite, were there many, if any 2 car 117 sets that worked either out of Reading or OOC in the NSE era?

Cheers

All of the 117's were 3 car units, there were a few park royal power twins (104's I think)
There were a few 117 power twins that worked the chilten line.

OK sorry to drag this ancient thread back, but got one final, related question: Which sector(s) would the 08s assigned to Old Oak Common belong to? Were they all Railfreight, or did IC/NSE have their own shunters, separate from the RF ones?

Just consulting my 1988 Locomotives ABC which contains sector allocations.

There were 41 Class 08s allocated to the IC 'General' sector, including at OC 08556/651/947.

The only NSE-allocated shunter of any kind was 09006 at Selhurst.

EDIT: Other OC-allocated 08s were assigned to Railfreight and Parcels.
