Interesting, any idea why there's a maple leaf on it?

The NRM is for historic items.

Hopefully this means that this horrible livery will soon be a thing of the past.

why do they display it in york? don't they need the engine in service?

not that i would be surprised. this fall, db schenker reactivated a bunch of old german br 140 engines which still had valid inspections because that was deemed cheaper than doing the inspections on more modern engines. shortly before christmas, all br 140 were put out of service suddenly, but only two weeks later 20 of them were reactivated again.

similarily, this summer lots of drivers were put on short time work, while at the same time numerous trains were stranded because there were not ernough drivers and engines to drive them. some trains were then handed over to competitors even...

i hope schenker does not ruin EWS as well. :)

DB Schenker has rebranded EWS on 1st January last year. Nearly all DBS locos still carry their former EWS livery; only a handful of locomotives were done: 59206 was the first to come out, followed by 66152, then two class 37s, 37419 and 37670.

Sometimes a newly livered train visit the NRM at York for the launch and for the public to see before entering service. This happened to 59206 for the livery launch in January last year.

67018 is at the NRM York probubly for the same reason. We shall see :D

67018 named "Keith Heller" and worked the DBS Company Train as 0941 York to Edinburgh Waverley yesterday. Today the set worked the 13:04 Edinburgh Waverley to London Kings Cross, being dragged by 67006, after 67018 failed.

The company train are doing a tour Keith Heller's retirement from Chief Executive of DBS.
