Re: Darlington Derailment
ALL train services using Darlington stastion have been delayed this morning after a train was derailed 300 yards south of the station. The incident happened around 6.30am. Only the driver was aboard the train and he is said to be shaken, but unhurt. Crews are currently working on the train in an attempt to get it back on the track. All services north and south are being rerouted. Delays of about half-an-hour are being experienced.

Hi, the train that derailed was a Northern Rail train from Middlesbrough, as spartacus said.

Re: Darlington Derailment
The train was a 142 ECS move from Darlington platform 3 to Middlesbrough. The driver passed the signal at danger and hit the derailer (not catch points). He has accepted responsibility and an investigation will take place. Platforms 1 - 3 were closed until around 10am which meant single line working south of Darlington for about 5 miles.

Its not that long since a 142 on a Saltburn - Bp Auckland ran into a DVT at Darlo either.
