Provincial Liveried Class 47 - what state?

I suppose this could have been the subject of a poll but I am not a great lover of those. However, the above loco, which is nearing completion, needs some direction....

Should it be released in ex works condition as per the pic (when the roof is done) with the snowploughs (which were removed very quickly), without the ploughs, or 'weathered' to the condition it was more often seen in (aka Lancs & Yorks grime)! If you have a preference, let me know. Sorry it can't be up to Ians 'photo real' standard but its better than a poke in the eye (hopefully!) :)

I have a third suggestion.... Why not release it in both versions?

If it has to be one or the other, I vote for the weathered version.

It spent most of its time running around like that.

Probably the only time it was that clean!

The weathered livery suits it, running up and down the North Transpennine route day in, day out gave it that weathered look, lots of brake dust

I may have misjudged - it was probably filthy by the time it got from Crewe Works to Huddersfield! I spent a fair bit of time doing the 'trans-pennines' (as did many others) and I only ever saw the loco in the dirty colours as depicted - however, I did see it very clean on a Parcels train at Redhill once! :)

Basil DD's "Generator" factory commences work!

All 407 needs is some 47 sounds complete with the fan motor sound.

You have a PM.

Cheers Basil.

Andy.

With Ian J's super dooper 47401, you'd think it would have come with real sounds so I could have pinched them! :D

Well the snowplough one has been produced as a limited edition for a few people but if you really want it, I will post them both and you can take your pick. Just ignore the 'limited edition' bit on the installer - I can't be doing with redoing that! Will post it / them tonight :)
