What about just placing a road and sinking the tracks underneath so only the rails show.

I have tried the "sinking track in road approach", and it's an absolute PAIN to keep them aligned........aweful........... :x

Okrasa Ghia was talking of adding tramway in road sections to XTracks at one point.........worth contacting him via MSN forum??

Well, i would say simply copy and rename the actual file, but that's showing how little i know, right?

Would anyone have some dimensions for the Roberts type tram that ran in Sheffield.
I tried the net and saw many photos but no data to relate to.
Just got TSM and would like to "learn" by doing a tram......Sheffield had trams, the LMS and the "Woodhead" line when I was born there *&&^% years ago!!!!
Thanks in advance.

If you want to just lay tram tracks on a roadway, just make a 512*512 road texture and name it acleantrack1.ace and replace the file of the same name in your routes Textures folder and you will get your tracks nicely running along the road.

Only use this on a route with just trams, acleantrack1.ace is the texture which normally shows the trackbed and sleepers, but you can make it anything you like in a route which does not have railways.
