A steam railcar is coming soon from that resourceful Mr Caldrail, and who knows a diesel one may show it's funky curves one day too.
Any news on the GWR steam railcar?

Needs a lot of work done yet, I don't suppose anyone here as any cab pictures of the GWR railcar? Anything will be better than the Scotsman

I also have the trailer plans, so may do that as well, once this is finished.

GWR steam railmotor is finished, although it uses Mike Simpson's LNER railmotor cabview. It will be on the Highworth CD.

I am none too clear on how the LNER operated them but presume they would run as a single unit along low-use branch lines. Just out and back runs to rural terminii. They might collect a van along the way if there was a lot of parcels traffic. The GWR would sometimes hang a trailer coach off the back (auto coach or an old clerestory vehicle) or place a trailer coach between two motor units with the cabs outwards to make an SMU (steam multiple unit). Not sure what route you'd put the LNER unit on. SMJ? Parts of MidEast? Mike Wilson's Scottish route?

Hi Decapod

Whens the railcar going to be released? Ive been looking forward to having a go with it. I startd work on my fictional version of the KESR from Northiam to Bodiam but am now thinking of starting again and making a better job of it.

I was pleased to hear that a GWR Steam Railcar is planned as I am collecting together stock that ran on the Abingdon-Radley Branch, although these were only tried for a week in1911. The Diesel Railcar is reported to have lasted a lot less after becoming derailed on the curve near the main the line.

Talking of re-railing are we going to have a re-railing train with Highworth?
i.e. GWR tool vans and mess car both normal and static low Poly.

If it is any use to you the Buckingham Railway Centre had a Sentinal-Cammell Steam Railcar built for the Egyptian National Railway in 1951. The cabview might be more suited than a diesel one, but I do not know if it is still there as I have not visited the centre for some time.

The Abingdon Railway will virtually run again someday
