Ive held off from announcing this because i wanted to have a working route first. Im creating the Ivanhoe line, running south from Loughborough, through Leicester where it turns west and heads towards Burton-on-Trent.
Progress is as follows
Terrain - 100% (demmed terrain)
Tracks - 100% (X tracks)
Signals - 5% (uses indicator signals, theatre signals and ground signals)
Scenery - 5% (platforms and a power station)
Features of the route:
- Principal stations leicester, burton, loughborough, with sileby, syston and barrow on the mainline. Numerous stations in between leicester and burton.
- Lafarge aggregates (closer to looughborough than in the real world, but provides a freight terminal close to the end of the route)
- 3 line running south of syston
- Leicester depot
- Junction at syston
- Ivanhoe junction (full triangle reinstated, more on this below)
- Bardon quarries
- Industrial sidings
- Drakelow Power station
- Burton junction
The route is set present day/near future, with passenger services reinstated on the Ivanhoe branch, albeit very limited. Mostly single track between burton and leicester, and mainline north of leicester. A hilly route, requires attention to driving due to the dem terrain! it is 28 miles of Ivanhoe, with 16 miles of mainline.
I must stress that this is FICTIONAL. Admittedly, it has proto or near proto areas, but on the whole this is a route that i decided to create and i did like, 2 hours research, the rest is from memory. The stations are in their real world locations, thanks to me mapping them out using streetmap.co.uk, so the general lie of the track is right. Im calling it fictional to cover myself and so as not to disappoint people.
I must warn you that i am at uni, and work will slow down in the new year as i have a dissertation to write
any thoughts let me know below.
haha one last thing, this line actually runs past the back of my house, so i will actually appear on it in my usual place. That is sitting in the garden drinking beer watching class 60's roar by
regards jon
I couldn't put this up last night as my internet connection had a hissy fit!
