New carshed please

Post by thedarkness »

Any chance of a new carshed please? The current one {as used in Mid East UK} is only about 3 coaches long and 3 roads wide. If possible, would some build something 12 coaches long and 4 roads wide minimum please.
Could call it an HST servicing depot or something.
I have seen the result of putting 1 behind the other, but the dont get the right effect inside the shed {doors half way along the shed etc}.
Anyway, cheers if someone could knock something like that up.

A good idea might be an extendable shed featuring a front and back seaction and middle sections that can be added to make it whatever length is required.

I made the mideast one open ended at one end so 2 sections can be joined to double the end.

Comeon... :o !The whole idea of this forum is for people to ask for help for something that they either can't find or can't make themselves...
Everyone has their own set of skills within the community, and we tend to form a co-operative to the benefit of all... I for one can't model, but I have built a freeware route to download, using object contributions from this very forum. I wouldn't dream of using the reply of anyone who asks for something to augment a route "You've got Route Editor, go and lay the track yourself"

Thats what happened to me, had never built a model and had to ask all the time on the forums, I then got guilty and decided to bite the bullet and get TSM, now I am building Trains, cabs, routes, scenic stuff..

Its worth trying even if you don't think you can do it.

I had a go with TSM, and i really need somebody sat next to me showing me how its done, as i couldnt follow the manual about building Matt's house.
I will put my hands up and say building a car shed should be easy though.
Tim. This little depot i've nicked off Champy uses you're sheds, but you get doors inside the shed where the sheds join i'm afraid mate. Cheers all the same Tim
I think the idea of shed sections was quite good though.

Snow Crash Andy, please may i have my head back, you appear to of bitten it off!

I wonder, could you use shape file manager to make the existing one bigger - lenght x2 width x1.4 (assuming its modelled that way)!

The shed has doors on one end only, if you rotate it and join it back to back on the first shed you get a very long shed with doors at either end.

I hope to rework these so they look a bit better later on, might do a longer one then.

If you think of the length of a 225 set, then this is about the length i'm after if possible.
Thanks for you're help anyway.

So what you are after is an HST Shed?

I can make one of these fairly quickly, I will see what I can rustle up over the weekend, my biggest object in TSM so far was Kidderminster carriage shed so I am sure an HST shed would be fairly easy after doing that one :)

I shall go and investigate that said car shed Tim, as it is quite interesting, especially for a preserved railway {Most places have a little shed that holds 2 or 3 locos}

Yup, I think Kidder carriage shed (on the BA SVR CD) is the biggest Railway building in the midlands or something like that anyway
