NCB Steam 1970s

Post by davidaward »

I have reskinned Paul Gausden's J94 several times to give NCB austerities. I now have the following locos,

Harry NCB Maroon
Joseph NCB Green
Hurricane NCB Green (weathered)
Bickershaw (Hunslet 3776) Blue (Weathered)
Bickershaw (Hunslet 3776) green (weathered)

Does anyone think it is worth me making a short NCB colliery railway set in the 70s to run the locos on??

The Hunslet named Bickershaw (which I have made) ran on the ELR for a while as Sir Robert Peel, straight after withdrawal from Bickershaw in 1983.

Cool I can relieve my childhood on the ELR, remember Shropshire, Meaford and Gothenburg as well? I'll look though my 'archives' to see if I can find a pic of the Robert Peel Nameplates.

First of several NCB wagons uploaded.

Does anyone have a favourite route with a colliery to run these items on?

Mideast and Cannock Chase both feature colliery lines, I may yet make short colliery route, after my work on the ELR project, but I think your waggons are set before the time period of my route (1970s-80s), but I may do a few older livery styles to run with the waggons, I've linked the NCB waggons to 'Warrior'

The early wagons lasted til the early eighties. They were mostly used for clearing spill from the discharge hoppers and spoil removal.
I will be uploading later ones including RCH 7plank and 16ton steel wagons.
