1970s Vehicles
We are starting to build up a good collection of vehicles on the site (thanks to Ian Morgan et al), but I was wondering if anybody who is into such things could produce some 1970s (to early 80s) vehicles.
I'd particularly like these for my Merseyrail 1980 route, but I'm sure they would come in very handy for others too.
We already have several suitable vehicles (including the very recent ones from Ian) but I was thinking along the lines of things like Ford Cortina, Granada, Capri (or was that a bit later), Morris Marina, Austin Allegro & Princess, Hillman Hunter, you know the kind of thing (anybody rancy doing a Reliant Robin?). Some suitable lorries and vans would also be nice. Terry's Foden lorries would fit in, as would the Mk 1 Metropolitan Police Transit (reskinned of course).
One thing I've not seen is any motorbikes or mopeds. They would also be very useful (although they would probably look a bit odd going around corners).
A variety of colours for the various vehicles would also add to the variety, although I can probably reskin some of the existing vehicles into different colours (for which I would obviously ask permission), but would prefer to concentrate on constructing the route and modelling the buildings (and stock if I can get the drawings).
Thanks,
Paul

As I prefer to use photographic textures for road vehicles (so the shape can be kept very simple and save on polys) it is getting hold of suitable photos that is the problem. I have been hunting down older vehicles whereever I go, and today I have made a start on turning some of my photo collection into actual models. Older vehicles still tend to have more complex shapes than modern ones though.
So, if anyone can supply suitable photos, that is good quality, near as possible square-on, and from front, side, rear, and above, I will see what I can do. I can't do much with an old, offcolour three-quarter view though.
Here is an example of the set of photos I need:

Moris Marinas would be absolutely perfect ('72 to '79 ish). I think Itals were a bit late, but close enough. Apart from the fact that, in my opinion (before anybody kills me) the Ital has to be one of the ugliest cars ever made!
Still, both would fit in very nicely to the route. Both were popular and common cars so they should be in our available stock of '70s motors.
I must get my Sweeney DVDs out and check out the "classic" cars od display there!
Hmm, a cunning idea for a cameo is forming... What I need is a bronze Granada and a silver Cortina to go with Ian's Mk 2 Jag and the Mk 1 police Transit van.
Seriously, if you can provide photos, that would be marvelous.
