The PUL and PAN sets were 6 cars, the Belle sets were 5. This would make an interesting era to set L2B operations in...southcoasttrains wrote:I'd fancy a
4LAV and a Brighton Belle set, oh yeah and 5PUL & 5PAN units too.
The 5 Bel should be easy to do as there are some Pullman carriages on the downloads page. All would need done is to put a cab onto the brake 3rds and make one a loco.
L2B in 1933 started with 2NOL, 4LAV, 5BEL, 6PUL and 6CIT sets. For the Eastbourne/Hastings extensions, the 2BIL and 6PAN sets were introduced. Later on 2HAL sets appeared, both steel on wood as in the 2BILs and the post-war loss replacement 'Tin HAL' sets.
The suburban areas would be the most varied, as there were lots of variations in the early 3/4SUB sets that were converted ex-steam stock rebuilt and mounted on new chassis, as well as the 1940s and 50s steel SUBs, some of which were built on the chassis of the older stock when they were disbanded.
I'm willing to have a go at trying to get a BEL set done, but it might take a while as I get the hang of how to do it...

(puts on Crocodile Dundee accent) That's not a 504! This is a 504!

Thanks to the webmaster at http://www.therailwaycentre.com for permission to use the image. Oh, before anyone asks the pic was taken at Radcliffe Central.
rwaceyw, I'm not a scrounger, but also having been brought up on 504s I'll offer the use of Mrs JP for a day if you produce a 504 in green! (and two days if you don't - if she ever sees this I'm dead)

The 6 PAN sets I believe came down as two sets (12 car) came to Polegate, then they would divide, I 6PAN would go on to Hastings and t'other go to Eastbourne.jeastmond wrote: L2B in 1933 started with 2NOL, 4LAV, 5BEL, 6PUL and 6CIT sets.
