Wagons- Real and Fictious?
Would the UKTS members be interested in having Real companies logos and liveries , revised into New styles and applied to wagons even if they arent Exact to real life (politically correct)
(i.e never been released or even designed???)
I appreciate that V Rs are a slightly different ball game but would anyone object to having a slightly re editied Esso tanker with a leaping Tiger across the whole of the wagon for instance?

Hi!
To follow on from the last two posts, if you are doing fictional items (and why not if it grabs you, not my scene normally, but Hey Ho!) PLEASE SAY SO IN THE README AND ON THE SITE DESCRIPTION............ I thank you!!!!
I have recently been doing some pre-grouping PO stock for Settle and Carlisle 1922. Now, some S&C local wagon owners/users we know all about, but while we know others had wagons, or suspect they had from their business size and type, we know nothing about the wagon types and liveries.
I have therefore made them as accurate as I know how......and the readme's will say..the idea being that if you want to run a pick-up goods, you should have some wagons for the locations along the route available if possible.
What you won't find is out of period appearance items hopefully!!!!!!!!!
In the same vein, I work in a Museum......some of our restoration involves vehicles where everyone that ever knew their details has departed this earth, and only limited fuzzy B&W pics exist of parts of them, rarely of the interiors...and almost never of the cabs....so do we forget any idea of restoring/building a replica, or do we do the best we can............guess what.......we do the best we can, and IF better info comes to light (rarely) we change things...........
So go ahead and do whatever you like, but PLEASE tell the audience!!!!!!!!
Dave

Why bin it - there are always going to be people who want to run real stuff and there are others who will be more than happy with wagons like that! Its no different to what you can get with 'OO' gauge railways - I once had a wagon with a switch that when triggered, a helicopter went flying off. Had hours of fun with it but I have never seen one in real life! You obviously have a flair for this sort of thing, so why not develop things for a VR system? I always said I'd never do anything that wasn't real but the NWT VR provided the opportunity to design and paint a new livery, something that would look out of place on a real train maybe, but realistic for the purposes for what it was designed for. I am sure they'd appreciate anything you want to try out!
