SSTSIM Concorde

Post by tomtrain »

Hi everyone :D

does anyone know where i can get the CIVA INS v1.4 required for SSTSIMs Concorde, 'cause when i go to simuflys site, it just comes up with an email adress and a message, which is in Spanish.

As well as this, does anyone know if there is an alternative, easier-to-understand manual out for Concorde, as i cannot comprehend the one supplied with the add-on

An help is very much appreciated :D

Regards

Yep, the site seems to have been taken down for some reason, but the file civa130.zip is still available from http://www.flightsim.com.

It's a great piece of software with a very steep learning curve... However, the supplied tutorial taught me all I need to know to get from A to B keeping the thing updated. Well worth doing the tutorial I can tell you, even if you are in a grotty default 737...

Again, many thanks to Fodda :D

Go throught the whole shutdown sequence until the aeroplane is cold and dark... Then save that state. When you want to start a cold and dark Concorde, just open that save, then when in MSFS you can change starting location, date, time, weather etc, and still be cold and dark.

I have a Flight One Cessna set up cold and dark and saved as the default flight.

Can't help any more with your particular Concorde as I use the PSS version and that has options ot start cold and dark, engines on, or cleared for take off.

NP on the CIVA link by the way.

Thankyou Fodda :D

i managed to get the aircraft off the ground properly, but i have 3 problems:

1) How do i install the CIVA INS, as i don't understand the manual that comes with it (i'm not particularly computer literate)

2) On the SSTSIM Concorde, where is the Secondary Air Door switch? i can't seem to find it anywhere.

and finally 3) what is the VMO?

If you could help me, i would be very grateful :D

I can't help you with anything specific to the SSTIM Concorde as I don't have it. I haven't flown my PSS one in a while so not sure where the secondary spill valves are, but the upper left side of the FE panels rings a bell.

As for the CIVA... I think it's just a self installing executable isn't it? I certainly don't remember any tips or tricks when I've installed it in the past.

If you're not happy with the install routine, then I daresay you'll not be happy using it. It's modelled very faithfully which means it's like programming a PET... I.e. mostly codes and lots of multi-button pushing for basic operations.

The accompanying documentation is the best you can do I'm afraid. It's a highly complicated piece of kit remember...
