Is this simulator any good, as I know of it, and know it is free. I don't really want to buy any of the Microsoft ones, as although they look superb, I have a much bigger intrest in BVE, so would only use it occassionally. :D What are your opinions?

I believe FS is the way to go. There are so many possibilities with it.

I'm sure I have seen MSFS 2006 adverts - is it due out soon?

Currently estimated 4th quarter of this year (in time for Christmas).

Tip for PS2 Players

Get Energy Airforce Air strike.

Even though the plot is fictional (loosly based on Iraq), it is very detailed with 10ish jets (sadly missing the Tornado or Harrier), has realistic military ATC, and can get very scary when you have 2 SAM's coming in on you. I picked it up for 8 quid from gamestation. If you own a PS2 and you see a copy, GET IT.

10/10 IMHO

Hi Djhedge.

Please dont take this as offence, but there is a thread opened a few days ago, in the Aviation forum (made by me). It has a link to one of the very few sites which has some screenshots of what is known as "FSX", although more likely to be called FS2006 or similar at a later date. Please use this thread for comments! :D

Sorry for the grumble :)

Regards

Duly noted - but does it really matter? The start of this thread was about "FS being the way to go". I was merely asking what the new changes/improvements were that constituted that view. :)

Well why not try READING the other thread before asking questions that have been answered there.

90% of teens today would die if Myspace had a system failure and was completely destroyed. If you are one of the 10% that would be laughing, copy and paste this to your signature.

No. If I see it I'll pick it up. For me EAAS is more realistic in flight than most of FS but it's also so easy to get used to
