A few screenshots

Post by Redbaron »

Hi,

Here are a few screenshots taken with Flight Environment installed, which really makes a big difference to FS. I am in the process of writing a review on this add-on (which will be uploaded to http://www.fsreview.co.uk when complete), but I thought you might like to see the difference for yourself:

The aircraft are the Aussim Piper Warrior II and Bill Lyons' Piper PA-23 Apache.

I can't remember the correct approach speed off the top of my head, but I think it is around 80 knots with flaps and gear down, appropriate power setting and trim to maintain this speed, then cut throttle and flare when you are about to touch down. Handles quite nicely for me - I use it a lot because it is enjoyable to fly.

I would have said 80 was a bit high. 60-70 would be better. Control your speed with attitude, and your rate of descent with power. Flaps allow you to fly slower, remember to use carb heat on the approach and switch it off on the last hundred feet of height (so that you have full power on go-around), and flare gently....

Oh.. Remember the wheels too.
