EGNT to EGCC

Post by Redbaron »

Hi,

Another set of screenshots from a flight in the PMDG 737 - this time a Britannia 737-800 from Newcastle to Manchester.

Image
Waiting at the gate at Newcastle for today's flight to Manchester, on a miserable day in the north-east. Hopefully the weather will be better in Manchester.

Image
Cold and dark cockpit.

Image
Systems turned on, passengers on board, doors shut, ATC clearance and ready for pushback.

Image
Pushback.

Image
Engines started and taxying to runway 25.

Image
Image
Lined up on runway 25.

Takeoff

Climbing out of the clouds and into bright sunshine.

Image
In the cruise.

Image
Starting the descent into EGCC.

Image
Image
Descending over the countryside. ATC have cleared us for a visual approach and landing on runway 24L (which has no ILS). The weather isn't ideal, with some low cloud hanging around the airport, but we should be able to see the runway.

Image
Runway lights in sight.

Image
Finals, giving a view of parallel runway 24R (the runways at EGCC are staggered) and the airport.

Image
View from the tower, showing the murky weather.

Image
Landing.

Image
Clearing runway as a Britannia 757 lands.

Image
Waiting to cross 24R, being used for takeoffs.

Image
Welcome to Manchester.

Quality shots Angus. 8)

Didn't trouble the centerline on that one did you. :P

I do hope Gary Summons gets to NCL soon.

 Being the thoughtful kind of guy that I am I didn't want to spoil the work of the people who paint the white lines by leaving rubber on them (the lines that is, not the people).

Me too, or even better a freeware version. Even though I fly from Sheffield City nowadays, I still think of EGNT as my "home" airport. Sadly though, no-one has done a freeware or payware version for FS2004.

You really need the VFR Aerial Photo Terrain - North Cheshire looks extremely dodgy on that murky shot from the tower!

[pedant]

24L is never used for landing, except in emergencies/maintenance on 24R (as it was last night - my Lufthansa flight narrowly missed the closure. I wanted 24L :) )

Lovely photos though; wish my system could take the 3D clouds!
