Freebird- a Turkish charter airline. They have fairly new aircraft (A320s) and a few older MD-80s, though I think they're retired now.

I don't mean to sound critical, so please don't take offence if I do, but shouldn't you check the airline you're travelling with before you book? I'm sure most are fine, but I know there are some airlines I would avoid, naming no names, and so I think it's always a good idea to find out about the airline you're travelling with before booking.

You ever booked a package holiday ?
The airline has never been a major part of any package holiday description I've ever seen.

No, I haven't ever booked a package holiday myself (I'm only 16). Whenever my parents have however, they've always checked and stuck to known airlines.

Well its only Turkey, not a transatlantic flight, so I'm not sure I really care who the airline, and for about £180 each for a week including meals in the hotel I don't really care.
But, this holiday was not listed in a specific airlines brochure, just listed on teletext, the airline was not a matter for discussion.

A lot of package holidays are like that - even if you choose a holiday from the Thomson brochure you could end up on a MyTravel aircaft - many smaller firms will have links with airlines like Freebird. It's nothing new. Charters can sometimes not even know the operator until last minute, so while your ticket may state you are flying with Excel, you could end up on a different companies aircraft.
