Just downloaded the ERJ135 and Dash8-Q400 from their site, which have been around a while but I didn't bother downloading as I thought they were FS2004. However, they do work in FS2002 as well, although the Q400 has a few bugs in the .air file which can cause some issues. They are both superb visual models, the ERJ coming with a choice of airstair door or regular opening door, and nice crisp graphics. I used the .air file from Robert Versluys's Q400 to resolve the flight dynamics of the Dash, which solved the issues and has made the plane nice and controlled to fly on instruments. The ERJ is also a good little flyer on instruments. Sounds and panels are default, so I recommend downloading one of the many freeware add-on panels and sounds available on Avsim or FS.com, especially for the Dash which uses the default Cessna sounds!
If like me you prefer to make a number of short regional hops around the UK and Europe, in both classic and modern stuff, these are two great models, ideal for places like Southampton or Norwich (BMI fly ERJ135's to Aberdeen, flyBE are currently flying to Belfast with Q400's and more routes are to follow) to other UK destinations.

Their visual models are superb but as you've pointed out the DHC's .air is suspect, and that's not a backward compatability (with 2002) issue either - its shocking in FS:CoF too.
I tried, unsuccessfully, to alias the PSS Dash 8 panel with the Q400 and haven't really found a suitable freeware alternative that I like but the sounds work and are a real treat.
Was a big fan of the ERJ when it first came out. That and Opensky's CRJs made many of my payware models of RJs redudant.
Just acquired the Wilco/FeelThere ERJ-145 package and that has done the same to the freeware.
I've a lot of FlyBE traffic on FS at Isle of Man and they're mainly Dash 8-Q400s. Any idea where they originate?

If you're looking for quality freeware RJs, try Project Fokker F70/100 models - they honestly are payware standard, and include panel (including overhead and pedestal, etc.) and sounds as well as great models. See http://fokker.avsim.net/index.html
I also like the CRJ700ER complete package from http://www.fsimcafe.com

Yep, I found it a bit itty bitty trying to get the original release to work (multiple donwloads, plus seperate liveries etc.) but with version 2 an executable it was easy and I agree it is quite superb.Redbaron wrote:If you're looking for quality freeware RJs, try Project Fokker F70/100 models
They've got the F.28 in the pipeline too.
I agree the F70 and 100 are superb, again another favourite for round Britain hops. The CRJ200 from POSKY is another superb animal although it took me a while to work out the texture mapping when I repainted one into "duo" livery as I couldn't find a readily available reskin. Again, freely available sounds and panels are readily available.
You are right about the Dash8 being suspect in FS9 according to the postings on the support forum. However, using Robert Versluys Q400 .air file solves the problem for both 2002 and 2004 apparently.
