"All-in-one" freeware packages

Post by Redbaron »

Hi guys,

I was wondering if you could point me in the right direction of some "all-in-one" freeware packages - by that I mean aircraft which include a panel and sounds. I have downloaded lots of aircraft that haven't had panels or sounds included, just the model, and I don't like that as for me the panel and then sounds are the two most important aspects of any aircraft - I like to fly from the pilot's seat not from outside. I don't like the hassle of trying to install separate panels and sounds, as it never seems to work. :(

The Gloster Meteor and Jet Provost, etc. from http://www.btinternet.com/~rick.piper/ that you suggested before are really good - that is just what I am after - aircraft with an included panel and VC, and sounds (although not for the Meteor, so I just used the Jet Provost sounds for that, which somehow worked :D ). So are there any more add-ons like that, and which would you recommend?

Thanks.
Angus

'vc10_package.zip' on AVSIM.com It might not be up to date as Dave Maltby is always tinkering and fixing things but it'll still give you a quality VC10 for FS9. If you want to get the updates for it there all available from http://www.dmflightsim.co.uk/

'tupolev114_install.zip' on AVSIM

And have a look at 'p38tdl22.zip', also in the AVSIM library.

Generally speaking I haven't had a problem adding panels and sounds to third party aircraft. Probably easier than trying to alias a cab and/or sounds in MSTS. The only issue I should mention is that where panels ask you to copy files into the main GAUGES folder with some I have still received warnings about missing gauge files on attempting to load the aircraft.

There's a great Hawker Sea Hurricane pacage on AVSIM.com. Should still be up on the homepage or search for 'seahurri.zip' in the library.

I certainly find it considerably easier to add and alias sounds and panels in FS than the equivilent in TS.

I sometimes get that too Vern. There's a brilliant Tu-154 package but certain gauges, regardless of what I do I can't get them to show, or more often I'm prompted about them but they work fine. I think it might be tied to the version of FSUIPC I'm runnning.

Thanks for all the suggestions. That VC-10 is excellent, as is the rest of the content from DMFS.
