Human - I wouldn't feel totalyl safe with just a glorified PC up front. Particularly if it was using Windows :P

I like using the AP in Fs2004 (for realism purposes), but after a while and the initial satisfaction from having successfully completed all procedures and departed worn off, it does get really boring, and I look forward to the landing. So I prefer hand-flying it really. Some of the most fun flights to do are in old-fashioned aircraft where you have to fly and navigate manually.

I would like a bit of both. And most are a bit of both. Hands up who's been on a plane (on the ground of course) when the captain has announced 'We need to reboot the aeroplane' :o

I think the current state of modern airliners is about right. Computers, plenty of redundancy, flight envelope management/protection and humans present if it all goes awry.

I wouldn't mind a computer doing the lot... But with today's aeroplanes I feel happier with a pilot there, just in case.
