Anyone out there fly something other than Cessna or Piper? Must be somebody out there who wants something better than the aviation equivalent of a ford fiesta.

I've got FSD's Pilatus PC6 Porter and I was going to get a Carendo Beechcraft but I can't get their site up.
Does http://www.carenado.com work for you? :-?

The problem being that with the VFR Photographic scenery and Terrain maxed out if I go above 120Kts then the textures start to blur. I could probably do with some more RAM and a newer gfx card but I don't think that'd change things much.

What else is there further up the social status ladder that flys nice and slow? Oh and how many cup holders does it have?

It works for me too. By the way, I already have lots of commercial add-ons, but what freeware would you guys recommend?

When you say freeware do you mean general aviation freeware or just freeware add-ons in, err... general?

If it's GA then go to the PSS website (http://www.phoenix-simulation.co.uk), register and get their SA/BAe Bulldog.

Then go over to http://www.realairsimulations.com and get their free C172 upgrade. It just uses the default C172SP model but you should notice a difference.

Bill Lyons has released some of his work for free and that is definetly worth having. The DeHavilland Moth series is a particualr favorite of mine.

That Archer is a nice looking GA plane... Is it 2004 compatible and where do I get one please?

Bill and Lynne Lyons are major aeroplane gurus! I've said it before and I'll say it again and again, their Travel Air 2000 package is the best plane I have in my collection. And I bought their Golden Hawaii package a few weeks back as well. Another great package.

And for VFR flying the Travel Air is excellent. Great view from the VC and slow enough to allow the VFR scenery to keep up with my erratic movements. ;)

Yes Fodda it is FS2004 compatible. If you buy the download version from Flight1.com you might need to choose which version or a patch, or you can get it on CD from justflight.com and that is 2004 compliant out of the box.

Having been originally for 2002 the VC is starting to look a little dated (it's not as good as the AusSim Warrior and is far, far inferior to the 172R) but I still fly it quite a bit.
