Just a quickie.
My girlfriend (and wife to be in 29 days time) has offered to buy me a new joystick for our Win2k box as a wedding/birthday present.
I would wish for something that provides force feedback but we are on a budget so cannot spend a fortune on the latest, greatest kit.

Your recommenations please.

Thanks
Dave.

I have a Saitek Cyborg 3D which is a pretty good stick with throttle and rudder facility (by twisting the handle). Fairly robust in normal use though chasing demons (or should that be the other way round) in Doom caused the dangly bit on the trigger to fall off.

I use what Vern uses, and have no complaint - however it is not force feedback

I found the FF/rumble worked for a while but then the blue light stopped coming on as did the effects. However that could be down to the . USB ports on my PC as much as the joystick.

My allegiance is with MS. Had two of their Sidewinder Force Feedback sticks without complaint. The original still works. Only bought the Force Feedback 2 as it was a good deal, it was USB and the 1 had small issues in Win XP.

I've not seen them anywhere for a while. I think MS must have left the game controllers market of late. Certainly dabs no longer stock them, and although I've not been into a GAME or Dixons Group store of late, it'd not surprise me if they still have any that they're charging the original full whack - £99.99

8 buttons (there is more on the FF 1 - by holding down a button it function I guess like a Ctrl, Alt or Shift key - the mapping can be doubled), a twist stick rudder, a throttle plus its got a really cool light on it .

Something from the recognised brands of Logitech and Saitek is should be good.

Am I the only one who switches the gear thumps and ground feedback off in Settings?
I think it must be subdued in some of the payware aircraft's .cfg but in the default aircraft its enough to shake my bloody hand off.

Cheers for the feedback. I wondered why I had not seen the MS joysticks in PC world when I went for a browse.
I shall have to pay a return vist, examin a few and then try to get the best one cheaper online.

Dave.
