Some shots of what will probably be my final time of seeing the slammers in action on the Lymington branch as they are due to be withdrawn in December. Also, some shots of the famous New Forest ponies in the forest.

How did you get them to stand still for so long?

In the New Forest the ponies do more or less what they want. A lot of people who havent been there are surprised when i tell them that the ponies, cattle, donkeys etc roam free through many of the villages, along the roads, the forest itself etc.
I've found a couple of images of the village of Burley with the ponies wandering about:

I was surprised with the two in my shot as usually the ones outside the villages are a lot less tame than the ones in the villages, but they didn't mind me taking photos of them at all. They stood there for the 15 mins i was there and just watched me!

I would recommend a visit to the New Forest to anyone, very peaceful and the animals just make up part of the experience.
