Small request...

Are you a budding railway photographer? Want to share your work? It's like the screenshots forum, except it's meant to be shots of the real ones!

Small request...

Post by BadWhippet »

Hello. I hope this is in the right forum (if not, please feel free to boot me to the correct place) but I'm just on the scrounge...

Does anyone have photos hosted here or elsewhere that wouldn't mind me using a few to make a very small montage to use in my signature? I wouldn't intend using them anywhere else. I know there are heaps of piccies all over the net of wonderful class 08s, 20s, 55s, 66s etc (yep, dieslel/electric are my preferred) but I wouldn't want to step on anyone's copyright toes. If anyone is okay with letting me use any of their photos, I'd love to hear from you.

Many thanks indeed,
Sue

Thanks guys! I can't say enough how thrilled I am.

I've found all my favourites already (from all three of you) and am putting them together in a strip now. I'll add full credits and links to your sites if that's okay. I found rather more than I needed so I can see me making more than one montage to interchange them! Anyway, they're fabulous photos and I've not yet done browsing!

David: you have superb Class 20 photos!!! You've made my day! :D

And my favourites so far.......

Mark - I absolutely LOVE the atmosphere of this photo!

From Ali, something I've never seen for real and so this will be in one of the montages I make for sure!

\/ Nice new signature down below! \/

My most grateful thanks you, Ali, Mark and David - your collections are absolutely tremendous and I had a very hard time choosing and rechoosing (which I expect I shall continue to do for some considerable time)!

Hi Sue,

Glad you like it - a bit of BR traditional. :)

Oh and yes.... the route editors can take about a month to wear off. :)

Hi Mark!

it is indeed yours (the Meridian and HST), as is the beautiful, yellow 86901(I totally love that one!). You have an amazing mix of pictures that I've thoroughly enjoyed browsing, and I particularly wanted to use your class 56 at Derby too (and made a cut-down size ready to use) but I had to force myself to choose given that the picture was scaling right across my widescreen! The end result is literally just half the entire length of the original, so I'll soon have another banner ready to switch for variety!

What I'm most thrilled about is that both banners include my absolute favourite locos! :D
