York Yuletide Express (14/12/08 and 21/12/08)

Post by TheAmateurBasher »

LMS Black 5 45407 is working an excursion today (Sunday 14th December 2008), from Liverpool to York and back. She is working The Railway Touring Company's York Yuletide Express.

This is a video of the train, filmed this morning at Lea Green (my local station). This is the first uploaded video to be recorded on my new camcorder - a JVC GR824 Mini DV camcorder. Apologies for poor quality (if this be the case), and for the shaky camerawork; having been reliably informed that the early running excursion was nearing, I raced onto the platform and got my camera out in time.

Watch out for Part Two coming next week, when the excursion is repeated. For now, comments welcomed.

I heard the other side of Tornado isn't 100% finished yet, that's the reason she's positioned where she is.

Anyway, good video. I got a photo of it 12 early at Dewsbury, and was glad It didn't turn up any early otherwise I've still have been working my way through some trees to my vantage point!

Ladies & gentlemen, boys & Girls, here is 'round two' of the York Yuletide Express. This clip was filmed this morning at Lea Green, only not at the station. This is Lea Green Road, situated a mile North of the station, and facing the St Helens Linkway. LMS Black 5 45407 was once again the loco in charge (and giving it some welly to boot!), with West Coast Railway's 47804 on the back for train heating.

So without further ado...

Comments welcomed. Finally, Merry Christmas! :D
