In height of the re-opening of the Stirling - Alloa branch for passenger service on May 19th, the SRPS ran a series of shuttles today between Alloa and Stirling, being the first public passenger trains to come from Alloa in 40 years! The trains were top and tailed by Ex-LNER K4 No. 61994 "The Great Marquess" and Deltic No. 50022 "Royal Scots Grey". The trains were well received by enthusiasts, the public and locals alike...and it's a forerunner for the opening of further lines in Scotland!:

Much more from the today up here : http://jonathonag.fotopic.net/c1511104.html

Expect some shots of the Mogul on Sunday, getting out the bike and will be doing 30+ miles of cycling to follow her about the Fife Circle!

Thanks

Jonathon

Cracking shots as ever Jonathon. Nice to see 61994 in fine fettle, while 55022 looks good with her silver buffers (but I bet they won't last long!).

Thanks David, yeah, it's nice seeing 61994 often! Having her pound along the straight out of Cowdenbeath after the severe curve speed restriction was brilliant....with that load of and the Deltic not assisting, and whistle blowing, it was a brilliant scene in the morning!

Roll on Sunday!
