Post by 87015 »

87026, 87007 and 87008 seen being dragged through Kings Norton en-route Long Marston to Crewe for attention prior to retirement in Bulgaria. 026 in Green/Yellow BZK livery for the paint specialists.

Great, poigniant shots. I would have known what it was like to bash these things (if Spitfire's Electric Scot Farewell had gone to plan in December 2007, which sadly it didn't), but now I will never know. Still, least there's at least three permanent UK residents for comfort... :D

Cheers!

It brings a tear to me eye to hear that the 87s will be going to Bulgaria, especially as I was watching some Virgin 87s/90s hurtle through Milton Keynes in 2003. That was only 5 years ago!!!!

Cheer all.

Were they diverted St Andrews - New St - Soho Road - Bescot then? I got stuck in a crosscity farce (no trains for 50 mins, but actually first riot for a while!) and whilst I am not sure what caused it as the XC stuff was still going through but that may have had something to do with it.

Better to be in Bulgaria than cut up, maybe one day once I've made some millions I'll repatriate one :D

The AC Locomotive Group, I hope you're taking note of this. :D

Long Marston looks very much likely the final place to see an 87 before they depart for Bulgaria. I say this because there is an open day being planned to happen some time soon...

After they're gone, Tyseley, Crewe and York are the only places you're likely to encounter an 87. Not all doom and gloom eh? :)
