1450- what a machine, the gentleman's lightweight racer!
Nice set of pictures there Jon!

Cleaned 1450, lit it up, ashed it out and even managed to connect the auto gear and whistle chord (driver's washing line!), but never got out on it, rode in the coach though and it flies along with no real effort to get up to speed.

A nice photo of the Dukedog clagging in your selection Jon. I was also there on the Saturday and the weather was rather foul.

Thanks Paul. Indeed the weather was far from appealing

I was down on Sunday and it wasn't as bad... Nice pics Jon. I too was impressed by 1450, nice engine. I was a bit surprised to find the 9017 running with the auto coach though
Are you looking forward to it's visit to the SVR David? You're lucky, we haven't let it away from Sheffield Park before...

It went to Didcot in the 1980s didn't it?
I certainly am looking forward to seeing it on a GWR secondary route with a full set of GWR coaches to match, just like its old home region! The only place where this can be done for it at present.
A rare chance to see this wonderful looking loco in as near as its original environment as possible. And if that's not enough of an attraction try adding Truro, a King, 2 small prairies, 3 panniers, 2 manors, a large prairie and an Ivatt 2..........seems very Cambrian now doesn't it- SVR being the perfect place to stage such a recreation!

Naaah, personally I'd have brought in a few more Mickeys and BR standards- got to have a feel of quality about the place.
