Northern England, Highlands and Northern Scotland

Post by jonathanmlewis »

I have updated my fotopic site with a selection of photos from the last week including the Easter Highlander on the Highland Main Line, Far North and Kyle lines with 37229 and 47802. Sadly I failed to get 37229 leading in full sun.

What lense were you using here?

Wow,

What lense (and zoom) were you using?,

I suspect your standing near the point where the previous day I fell with my bike while stopping to take a picture of the sign with my compact.

It is quite a distance from the path to the track.

Also what are those coaches?

No they aren't - they are the Riveria Trains set that have been used for the Blue Pullman since the operation of that charter passed on after the demise of FM Rail.

Hence why there appears to be a Mk 1 buffet in chocolate and cream livery in the rake!

There are some excellent pictures there, with very good choice of locations to capture the trains passing through the Highland scenery.

Regards,

Dan

[pedant] It's actually Riviera's Great Briton (Britain?) set which is being used for the odd blue pullman turn - the 'proper' BP set is with Cotswold Rail. [/pedant]

EDIT: Beaten to it! :)

Hm, my compact only goes up to 24mm not sure what that equates to in 35mm.

Suprised a 50mm on the 5D got that close though unless your not actually a the summit (50mm at Full Frame/35mm is roughly equivilent to what you see)
