WOW, some great shots there Damon. How come you got to go to Crown Point, that is something that I have always dreamed of doing.

Do you think If I e-mail Northern Rail to have a look round Newton Heath Depot they'll oblige?

Thanks
Shaun :)

That would be brilliant if they did tours. The only problem is that they dont always have many trains there and you only see 142s and 150s, but maybe some 153s and 156s.

I might try that, I used to have a contact at One, or when it was Anglia Railways anyway.

One do tours of Crown Point and Freightliner do tours of Basford Hall.

Apart from that I can't think of any places that are really open.

If its still the same bunch working there as it was when I worked there, they'll probably tell you to feck off!

Its worth asking though I suppose.

A nice set of photos Coxter, just noticed your Stoneblower pic on in the misc section.

Its a Matisa Tamping machine, very different animal from the Stoneblower (much more reliable for a start!) which are all built by Harsco. :)

Thanks for that. To be honest I didn't really know what it was and the only thing that I'd seen that looked similar was (I think) a stoneblower
