NYMR yesterday afternoon.

Are you a budding railway photographer? Want to share your work? It's like the screenshots forum, except it's meant to be shots of the real ones!

NYMR yesterday afternoon.

Post by chrisiveson »

SNG was on shed out of use and the S&D 7F was running 45 minutes late.
Excuse was poor coal and bad steaming.
(The S&D was nevy in a hurry).

Cheers,

Chris.

Are the NYMR still running odd coach rakes, as when I went they had 6 Maroon Mk1's, 1 Blue & Grey Mk1 and 1 Gresley coach in the same rake, and that doesnt look attractive behind that southern engine they have there (cant remember which one though ).

Anyway, some nice screenies there Chris.

Cheers...

Yes, Robert, they are. Very mixed if you ask me, blue/grey, maroon, red & cream and choc and cream all in the same train.
Would be nice to see the Gresley teak set in action along with, maybe, SNG.
By the time the S&D 7F got to Levisham it was running in fine fettle but they still decided to put the 56xx on for the return to Goathland and Grosmont.
Great sounds from up front with both engines barking up the long climb to Goathland.
Chris.
BTW it would have been S15 #841.

The 7F seems to be performing ok now that all the bad batch of coal we had a month or so back is out the tender, and the chimney is now inline with the blastpipe

As for the mixed rakes of coaches, it's a shame really. Because it can be done http://www.nymr.fotopic.net/p29099948.html

But all to often it's http://www.nymr.fotopic.net/p32632064.html

I think some of it is to do with the owners of the coaches wanting them in a particular livery..
